Equitrekking is the Emmy Award-winning lifestyle television series that takes viewers around the world with local people to experience history, adventure and culture both in and out of the saddle. Hosted by Darley Newman, Equitrekking broadcasts to 94% of the U.S. on PBS, on international networks in over 82 countries and on Create TV, Public Television’s nationwide lifestyle channel. The series is sponsored by Starwood Hotels, Ralph Lauren, Icelandair and Tourism Ireland.
Thirty-five high-definition episodes have taken Darley on diverse adventures, including riding into the crater of a volcano on Maui, into Botswana’s remote Okavango Delta, to interview HRH Princess Alia at the Royal Stables in Jordan, on cattle drives in Texas and Uruguay, and through ghost town on Turkey’s Mediterranean Coast. The Equitrekking crew has consumed countless granola bars as they ride horses to dramatic locations, often camping out to capture truly beautiful natural settings to excite their dedicated, engaged fans.
Equitrekking has been honored with three Daytime Emmy Awards and eight nominations and spawned an award-winning companion book, Equitrekking Travel Adventures on Horseback, written by Darley and published by Chronicle Books.
